Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be yoga asana classes and who will be teaching them?

Yes, there will be yoga asana classes, including pranayama (breathing exercises) and relaxation between postures. They will be taught in the “classical yoga” style by certified yoga instructors.

What if I can’t do certain postures (asanas)?

There will never be any pressure to do any asana or to hold an asana longer than you are able. There will be one on one guidance from experienced, certified yoga instructors. Yoga asanas are meant to be held in a way that is steady and comfortable (sthira and sukha). If you can’t do a certain asana or hold it steadily and comfortably, you can always return to the relaxation posture (Savasana) and relax on your back.

Can I opt out of certain activities, if I need to, such as the trekking with waterfalls in Chiang Mai?

Yes, you can. While we hope you will enjoy and take advantage of all the activities we have included in the yoga tour, we understand that there may be some that you may need to opt out of, which is not a problem. Note that all the activities and sightseeing have been carefully selected and are easy to moderate level.

Will there be vegetarian options throughout the yoga tour and for the Thai cooking class?

Yes, there will be vegetarian options throughout the yoga tour. There will only be vegetarian meals served at the resort in Chiang Rai, and during the rest of the yoga tour, you will have the option to order vegetarian meals at the places we eat. You will also have the option to make your dishes vegetarian at the Thai cooking class in Chiang Mai.

Will there be air conditioning in our hotel rooms and at the resort?

Yes, there will be air conditioning in all our hotel rooms and at the resort.

Will there be Wi-Fi in our hotel rooms and at the resort?

Yes, there will be Wi-Fi in all our hotel rooms and at the resort.

Will there be free time during the yoga tour?

Yes, there will be free time daily throughout the yoga tour, and this is indicated on the itinerary.

How come there aren’t guided yoga asana classes during the last part of the yoga tour?

The last part of the yoga tour is set up for you to reflect on what asanas worked best for you and what other practices (ie meditation, pranayama, kirtan, philosophical study/inquiry, etc) worked for you, and to craft your own customized personal yoga practice. You can also ask us questions that may come up for you. There will be free time to reflect on this and for yoga self-practice so that you can continue on your own when you return home.

Are there any other yoga retreats or yoga tours offering the same “more authentic yoga experience” that Educare Yoga Tours is offering?

Not that we’re aware of, and we believe that we are the first.

How are you able to offer so much for such a reasonable price when other yoga retreats/tours don’t include half of what you do and mostly offer yoga asana classes and a couple meals and charge significantly more?

Good question. Our aim is to offer an amazing experience at a reasonable price.

If I love this yoga tour and want to go on another one, will there be more yoga tours coming?

We definitely hope you’ll love it! We are putting together more unique yoga tours to other beautiful lands in the East, which will also include a “more authentic yoga experience.” These will also be very small groups and could fill up quickly when released.
